Run slow enough to keep going
Get an essay every other Friday about running slowly: Slow Run Living, and the life around it. And a standing appointment: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. 40 minutes more or less. Any hour that fits your day.
What it is
An essay every other Friday. About running slowly, and about what sits around it: sleep, time, patience, and why most people stop in week three.
Three days a week to show up for. Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. 40 minutes. Morning, lunch, after dark — whatever the day allows. The day is the appointment, not the hour.
No programme. No heart rate zones, no intervals, no twelve-week plan. If you’re looking for a faster 5K, there are better places than this.
What it isn’t
It isn’t a community with a chat and a feed. There’s an email every other Friday, and you can reply to it.
It isn’t fast. Slow Run Living only starts to mean something after a few months. That’s the whole point.
Three days is the rhythm, not a rule. Two out of three is a good week.
Who’s writing
Henriette
I run slowly, more often than I run far. I write about it because I quit many times before I worked out why.
Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday I run for 40 minutes more or less. Whenever those days let me. You’re welcome to do the same.
Note:
Sow Run Living is a running and endurance coaching, education and training company for midlife people. We do not sell a “transformation in 30 days” program, “injury-proof guarantee” or quick-fix method. We believe, with education, people can be better prepared to make sustainable training decisions, but we do not guarantee specific outcomes in our services. Results vary, are not typical, and rely on individual effort, time, recovery, and skill, as well as health history and other personal factors.
